Monochromatic Mix-Up

Monochromatic Mix-Up

Hey Lovelies,

Over the past year, I’ve seen this skirt worn a million ways. Well maybe not a million, but a lot – so I decided to try something different by using a purple monochromatic color scheme.

According to Wikipedia, monochromatic colors are all the colors (tints, tones, and shades) of a single hue. By using a range of contrasting tones, they can attract attention and create focus. The use of a monochromatic color also provides a strong sense of visual cohesion.

To mix it up a bit, I combined textures and shapes by introducing a black and white wide striped skater skirt with iconic knitwear zig zag pumps.

The result was a monochromatic ensemble with depth and dimension through the use of connotative color.
