Recappng the triFABB meet up and Southern Women’s Show

April was such a phenomenal month!  I had a golden opportunity to be a part of the Southern Women’s Show Raleigh.  If you’ve never heard of it before, it’s the huge 3 day event which showcases garments, cosmetics and beauty products.  It also focuses on apparel and fashion accessories, beauty and fragrance, confections and gift assortments, womens sports teams, dating services, fitness & equipment, gems and jewelry, gifts and handicrafts, sporting goods, toys and games industries, and more.

Needless to say, I was super excited to not only attend the show for the first time, but also model in triFABB “Dressing For You!” Fashion Show, hosted by blogger friend Molly Stillman, of stillbeingmolly.

The fun began with the triFABB Blogger meet up at the Jim Graham Building on the NC State Fair Grounds on the Thursday evening before the Southern Woman’s Show began.  What made this meet up so cool was it took place right beside the main fashion stage, so we had a chance to take a sneak peek of the stage as well as rehearse for the show.

The delicious food such as chicken strips, pita bread, tossed salads, and refreshing beverages were provided by PDQ and Zoe’s.

There was also a delicious wine tasting and sweets provided by Little Black Dress Wines.

It was awesome to see familiar blogger faces and meet new friends like Liza Titchener, Account Executive at Bolt PR

Liza Titchener with the generous swag bags for the triFABB meet up

The swag bags were absolutely fabulous and featured all types of fancy gifts, such as a three-tiered Bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes, tons of fragrance and beauty items from Belk, a bottle of wine from Little Black Dress Wines, and all sorts of other goodies.

The meet up ended with a group photo of everyone on stage

The next three days of the Southern Women’s Show were beyond words!

Have you ever been to a fashion show and loved the apparel, but walked away wondering where in the world you would wear what the models wore?  This was NOT that kind of fashion show.  The audience was in for a treat!  Molly Stillman did a fabulous job appealing to the every day women.  She explain various to ways to wear the clothes and also gave helpful tips on dressing for three different occasions.  It was one of the most amazing fashion show I’ve ever seen, because it completely engaged the audience, and was fun!

I am wearing a very comfortable dress by LulaRoe, along with jewelry by Noonday Collection – Emily Sexton

Here I am wearing a comfortable white sweater and jeans from The Peachy Keen Boutique, paired with a handbag by Linda Mendible, jewelry from Noonday Collection – Emily Sexton, and shoes from The Root Collective

It was such an amazing experience to model along side these five amazing ladies.  After we graced the runway wearing the amazing apparel, handbags, jewelry and shoes we were able partake in the tons of exhibits and special guests.  Some of the featured guests were Michael O’Rourke from “Rock Your Hair”, who actually cut my friends hair on Saturday.  Randy Fenoli from TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress, and also Peter Facinelli from NBC’s Odyssey, Showtime’s Nurse Jackie and The Twilight Sagas.

Before the show I only knew one of the ladies, but by the end of the show we all had bonded and become friends

This was truly one of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time.  I’m still on Coud 9 thanking God for this opportunity!
