Go Green!

Go Green!

Hey everyone! I gotta thang for green lately, so I decided to max it out with this green maxi dress shopped from my closet …. I actually found it last year at Marshalls.  It caught my attention because the pattern was unique and colors were captivating to my eye.  I also love the various shades from grass to army green.  Green has always been one of my favorite colors.  It’s the color of life, renewal, nature, energy, growth, harmony, freshness, safety, fertility, and the environment.  It’s no wonder I love it. I’m not sure what my green obsession is all about lately, but I’m going to roll with it 🙂 // Maxi dress (Marshalls) // // Straw Tote (old) // // Gladiator Sandals (Seychelles) // // Reveal Cosmetics (here) // Photography by:  Em Grey Photography Have a great rest of the week! Recapping the Sip and Shop hosted by Outerskin 2 and Reveal Cosmetics

Recapping the Sip and Shop hosted by Outerskin 2 and Reveal Cosmetics

Happy Monday Ladies! Outerskin 2 and Reveal Cosmetics teamed up to host an exclusive Sip and Shop yesterday, which was held at a private location.  I can’t even begin to tell you about the fun I had.  The event kicked off my summer shopping and truly lived up to all it was said to be, and more.  Besides the latest fashion finds including apparel and jewelry, there were make overs, makeup tips and products, plenty of raffles, fun games, giveaways, delicious food, and sips. The event was a huge success not because of the material things, but because of the things money can’t buy which are relationships, networking and support that also occurred.   It’s rare to attend an event where you walk in only knowing a few ladies, but walk out feeling like you have gained so many girlfriends.  All the ladies are just phenomenal. These photo’s simply don’t do justice on how much fun we had!  I don’t normally include this many in my blog posts, but I wanted to capture the moment. 🙂 If you haven’t had a chance to check out the products and services offered by Outerskin2 and Reveal Cosmetics, I highly recommend you do so.   You will be amazed and happy you did.  I am already counting down to the next event! Have a great week y’all! Love, The Ultimate...
The Heart of the Matter

The Heart of the Matter

Let’s talk about Social Good!  It’s what’s near and dear to my heart.  I believe if every last one of us in the world would adopt some of the practices of organizations and businesses that promote social good, we can change the world to be a better place.  I seem to connect better with those who have a sense of social responsibility, and are passionate about change.  By volunteering in my local community, and supporting these types of entities, I’m doing my part to make a difference.  It’s great to witness businesses and organizations either starting their business model to include more social goods in their strategy or expanding it.  That is just totally awesome! My obsession lately is the lovely handmade bangle I purchased from Em Grey of Em Grey Photography, who also happens to be my photographer, and fellow blogger friend.  Initially I had never heard of Noonday Collection, I but once Em schooled me I was impressed. Noonday Collection is a business that uses fashion to create meaningful opportunities for artisan entrepreneurs around the world.  The bangle I love so much is made in India from bamboo by artisans with special needs. Here’s the link where you can find out more about it and purchase one Noonday Collection Mesh Bangle.  How could I go wrong purchasing from such a wonderful business that incorporates fashion and social good? I implement social good by looking for causes that resonate with my personal values, and are deeply meaningful to me.  No matter how big or small, if we want to see a difference in the world, we have to...
Flower Power

Flower Power

It’s almost the weekend everyone!  Are you ready?  I know I am!  Since we’re talking about the weekend, I wanted to share an outfit that’s perfect for that casual weekend or shopping trip. First off, you will rarely see me in non gym sneaks, but I finally got on the bandwagon a found a pair I really like – well sorta.  I found these Sperry’s at a local retail store and couldn’t resist.  I have a thang for sequins and sparkle y’all!  These are the perfect weekend errand shoe, as they are comfortable, easy to put on, and classy!  I wouldn’t have it any other way. Lately I’ve been obsessing over floral print.  I absolutely love flowers and I’m so glad the fashion designers are leaving no stone unturned when it comes to prints.  These floral leggings are extremely light and comfortable.  Just make sure you pair them with a longer shirt or blazer to create a pulled together look.  With these, I decided to keep with the fun and pair them with striped top.  This look is quick and easy to recreate.  I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by as always!   Outfit deets: Blazer: H&M (sold out) Similar here: JCPenney Shirt: Old Leggings: Ross Sequin Sperry’s: (sold out) Similar here:  Bandmans Love, The Ultimate...
Styling the Stylist

Styling the Stylist

A few weeks ago I attended a Mother’s Day Trunk Show at Peachy Keen in Cary, North Carolina to celebrate Mom’s.  If you’ve never visited this boutique, you’re in for a huge treat.  Peachy Keen is a family owned contemporary lifestyle boutique that specializes in dressing all women.  I love that they offer a diverse selection of brands, styles and prices to compliment every woman, and every woman’s shape.  There’s something for every one of all ages and sizes here.  As a personal stylist and personal shopper, it can sometimes be a challenge to find items for my clients all within one store.  I appreciate businesses that are in touch with the reality that not everyone is thin, and try as much as possible to cater to the needs of everyone. In addition to the fab clothing at Peachy Keen, the trunk show also included unique accessory pieces by Noonday Collection, which are all handmade by mothers around the world from various countries such as Peru, Rwanda, Ecuador, India, Ethiopia, and more.  What I love so much about this business is each purchase benefits underprivileged women in struggling nations, by creating jobs. Styling services were also offered during the event.  I thought it would be fun to allow myself to be styled by another personal stylist.  More often times than not, someone else will always select something different for you than what you would select for yourself.   Allowing yourself to be styled by someone else could open up a new and different look that you may not have thought of. In this post I’d like to share a few...
