Cape Series – Evening of Elegance

Cape Series – Evening of Elegance

Hello Loves, With the holiday season upon us, it’s only befitting I style a more elegant cape than what I’ve previously featured on my blog.  If you’re looking for a highly stylish alternative to a coat without wearing a fur, than a cape is just it! This black velvet cape is perfect for an evening on the town because it’s bold, mysterious, and adds the perfect amount of drama to take your dresses from ordinary to extraordinary.  Who would think such a simple piece could elevate an entire look in such an elegant way? Another added benefit to wearing a cape over a coat is how easy they are to wear. Draping them on over shoulders is so convenient for transitioning from outside to indoors. The cape I’ve styled is a vintage beauty but I’ve found some similar capes below that will achieve the same look. Of course if you need assistance finding another alternative or with styling for your upcoming event, you can reach me via this website or at theultimatefashionista@yahoo.com to schedule an appointment. Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving! Cape Series – Be Your Own Superhero

Cape Series – Be Your Own Superhero

Happy Sunday everyone, I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend.  My apologies on finally posting the second outfit from my cape series.  I had all intentions of posting earlier, but have been recovering from my recent trip to Dubai.  For this look I chose a super long plaid vintage cape, which reminds me of being a superhero.  Let’s face it guys, no one is going to save us in life.  There’s a Superhero inside all of us.  We just need the courage to put on the cape, rise up and be our own Superheroes. I’m a fan of all types of capes, but longer capes are harder to come by so if you have the opportunity to snag one I would recommend doing so.  I’ve posted a link to a similar style below.  The shoes add even more drama to this look. What do you think?   Would you wear something similar? Cape Series – Mix It Up

Cape Series – Mix It Up

Greetings everyone! You asked for another cape series, so another series it is.  After all, I love you all so much so I aim to please!  🙂 Today I’m kicking off the first look with one of my favorite things to do which is mix patterns in an unorthodox way.  Who would ever think houndstooth and plaid could pair together so well?  This look is proof you can absolutely wear the two patterns together. Hopefully you’ll leave inspired to try this look or some variation of this mix.  Do you enjoy mixing patterns together too? Give Me My Flowers

Give Me My Flowers

“Give me my flowers while I can still smell them” is what first came to mind when I saw this beautiful floral mural.  I don’t know how long this quote has been around, it still holds true today.  We should always strive to show people how much they mean to us while we can. On another note, it’s my birthday month and I’m strutting into the next year just as happy as I can be! Getting older is such a privilege, and I never take that for granted.  This floral mural was perfect the perfect backdrop for this vintage style monochrome outfit.  I’ve always been a huge fan of black and white because it’s so eye-catching, classy and timeless.  Since some of these pieces are vintage, I’ve found some similar pieces to recreate this look.  I hope you enjoy this post darlings!  If you do, please leave me a comment letting me know how so. Until next time, Muah! The First Annual Ultimate Fashionista Tea

The First Annual Ultimate Fashionista Tea

Hello Lovelies, FAMILY IS EVERYTHING!  Last month my family established a new tradition that I’m simply over the moon about.  I hosted The First Annual Ultimate Fashionista Tea for all the ladies in my family.  We are small and like many other families, over the years we have loss what I call our anchors.  These anchors were the ladies and gentlemen who always kept our family together from as long as I can remember.  This has concerned me deeply and I have been wanting to do something special for quite some time.  I prayed about it and God placed it on my heart to host this tea party to bring our family closer, fellowship, as well as honor our elder ladies which include my dear mama, her two sisters, and a cousin. All I can say is God showed up, showed out!  Everyone was mesmerized by two special and talented sister friends who blessed us with their gifts from God.  Minister Edith Berry of Prolific Epic Partners based in Raleigh, NC performed a beautiful mime, and Sister Jacqueline Price Williams based in Chesapeake, VA performed beautiful praise dances.  Both ladies were a blessing, and their anointed performances left a permanent mark of peace, love and serenity in our hearts. Overall, the day was a huge success and blessing to everyone!  Words can’t express how honored I was to be in the presence of such royal and stylish ladies who I’m blessed to be able to call my family.  I thank each and everyone who attended, performed, and assisted in any way.  Most of all I thank God for using...
Royal Wedding Ready

Royal Wedding Ready

Happy Saturday everyone! Did you watch the Royal Wedding?  Since I wasn’t invited I decided to feature a look fit for attending such a historical event. A trend among royal family buffs in recent years is fascinators.  These little hats were popularized by the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, and are called fascinators because they actually attach to the head.  I’m a lover of hats and have many, but this whimsical fascinator by Giovannio Hats is one of my all time favorites.  I chose this chiffon polka dot white dress by Light In The Box because its unique appearance is sophisticated, classic, fun and modern at the same time.  This timeless print will never go out of style. If you watched the wedding what are your thoughts and who do you think was best dressed?  Have a great rest of the weekend and continue to be royal!   Photography by: Sharon Bui   What I’m Wearing: // Fascinator // Giovannio New York // ZIYI Women’s Chiffon Dress – Polka Dot Split Off Shoulder Dress // Light In The Box // Pearl Ankle Strap Heels // Akira (Sold out) Similar here   Love, The Ultimate Fashionista...
