It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing

It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing

(Doo wah, doo wah, doo wah, doo wah) Hey my Loves! I hope you’re enjoying the summer so far, and it hasn’t been too hot in your area.  Today I’m taking a step back into the 50’s in a beautiful bold colored swing dress I found while thrifting for only $9.99.  Yes, I must say I scored big time! These full-skirted dresses swing dresses are perfect for summer, and are absolutely one of my favorite types of dresses because they instantly add a touch of glamour and femininity to your look.  They’re also the perfect dress for the apple shape because they camouflage mid-sections, make the waist appear smaller like an hourglass, as well as show off legs. Instead of pairing this dress with a classic pin curl hairdo, I opted for a straw fedora hat, which gives more of an edgy appearance.  What’s your opinion of the way I styled this swing dress?  Did I do it justice?  Since this dress is vintage and not available, I’ve created a boutique below with various swing dress styles that you can shop. Thanks as always for stopping by to read my blog.  Until next time, stay stylish and keep swinging! 🙂 Photography by:  GloryRoze Photography   Turn on your JavaScript to view content   What I Am Wearing: // Straw Hat // T.J.Maxx //Swing Dress // Vintage // Tamia in white // ShoeDazzle // Straw Bag // Vintage   Love, The Ultimate Fashionista Share...
Smokin’

Smokin’

Hello Loves, This red jumpsuit is Smokin’!  A jumpsuit should be a once piece staple in every woman’s closet because they’re easy to wear, comfortable, flattering and stylish.  One of the things I really love is the flexibility.  You can also dress them up or down depending on the occasion. When selecting a jumpsuit, keep the following tips in mind: Purchase the right length, and select the right shoes.  If the jumpsuit is too long, have it hemmed to fit the shoes you will wear the most. Make sure it defines your waist.  If you have a little extra weight in your waist, I suggest adding a belt which will emphasize it more and make you look slimmer.  You can also select a jumpsuit with a higher waistline to solve this issue. Buy the right fit and size.  If you’re fuller on top try a looser style.  If you’re fuller on the bottom, select a jumpsuit with a wide leg.  If you’re short, look for a jumpsuit with more of a narrow silhouette. Buy a solid color.  A single color elongates the body, and creates a flattering looking profile. This jumpsuit exudes confidence and undeniable glam.  The ruffle and one shoulder is so feminine and flirty creating a look that’s polished, put-together, and sophisticated.  Be prepared to stop traffic in this jumpsuit because it’s just that haute! Top It Off with a Bow

Happy Monday everyone! Today I’m sharing this Pink Striped Bow Off The Shoulder blouse by Romwe.  I love how feminine it is, which means you can glam it up or wear it casual as shown below.  I chose to pair it with an embroidered denim maxi skirt, but I can envision pairing it with a black pencil skirt. The top is currently on sale for $10.99, so I’m sure they won’t last long.  How else would you style it? Get Your Frills On

Get Your Frills On

Hey Dolls! How was your weekend?  Mine was great.  It was a great chill weekend filled with time spent with girlfriends on Saturday, and a delicious brunch yesterday.  What more could you ask for on the weekend, right?  Today I’m sharing this cute little darling romper.  This whole male romper talk in the media lately had me pulling out my rompers.  I love them for a casual look by the way, and there’s one for every body shape. What attracted me to this one was the open shoulder ruffle detail, and floral print.  It’s just feminine and girly when you want to be relaxed but feel extra pretty.  Paired with these ruffle heels, it was perfect for a summer day of frills.     Photography by:  GloryRoze Photography Turn on your JavaScript to view content   What I Am Wearing: // Romper // Ross // Florence Frill Detail Heel In Blush Faux Suede // EgoShoes  (Similar:  Shirah in Blush by ShoeDazzle) // Handbag // Diseño by Imelda   Love, The Ultimate Fashionista   Share...
When Vintage and Modern Unite

When Vintage and Modern Unite

Hello Lovelies, When vintage and modern unite your outfit can look amazing! Does anyone love thrifting besides me?  Have you heard of thredUP yet?  If not, let me turn you on to an amazing new way to shop if you love saving money like me.  thredUP is a fashion resale website for consumers to buy and sell secondhand clothing online.  I love that they are part of a larger Collaborative Consumption movement, which encourages consumers to live in a more collective, sharing economy.  I purchased this beautiful yellow scarf is from thredUP, which I’m currently using as a head scarf; however for spring I’m planning on wearing it many ways. I mixed this vintage top with modern pants and was very pleased with the complete look.  It’s colorful and fun, and goes to show you don’t have to spend a lot to look good.
