Mural, Mural on the Wall

Mural, Mural on the Wall

Happy Friday everyone, I’ve always loved street art, graffiti, and murals because of their creative, inspiring and unrestricted ability to capture my attention.  It’s been refreshing to see a lot of cities embracing colorful streets and walls by artists from all walks of life who are able to tell stories and express themselves in such a unique way. To my surprise, my recent visit to the Gestamani neighborhood of Cartagena, Columbia topped all of the places I’ve ever traveled to for having such an abundance of diverse beautiful artistic expressions.  It was such a cool neighborhood.  I’ve decided share some of my favorite murals from the trip.  I wish every country was this colorful!     Photography by SherriaTravels, Sherria29_Photography, SherriaAroundTheWorld What I’m Wearing: // Cartagena Headwrap // Fanm Djanm // Pom-Pom Hoop Earrings // J.Crew // Off Shoulder Crop Top/Maxi Skirt // ShoeDazzle // Keira Flat Gladiator Sandals // ShoeDazzle   Love, The Ultimate...
Go where you are CELEBRATED

Go where you are CELEBRATED

Happy Tuesday everyone, Many of you know I celebrated my birthday last week with a trip to beautiful Cartagena, Columbia.  I’d been wanting to go there for years, but really didn’t know what to expect.  I can honestly say, Cartagena really surprised me.  If I had to sum up my entire experience into one phrase, it would be “Go where you are celebrated”. All women are embraced there, but I feel like women of color are truly celebrated in Cartagena.  There are African influences everywhere! In particular, billboards, breathtaking murals and beautiful pictures of women of color all around.  This is often taken for granted, but as a woman of color my trip to Cartagena was the first time I ever felt really embraced in a country.  Not only were women of color posted everywhere, people were extremely friendly, nice and helpful towards me.  Again, something I haven’t always experienced in other countries.  By the way, since there were so many beautiful murals, I’ll be posting another blog post of the murals, and the Walled City. Once of the major reasons why I’ve had this colorful, vibrant, and happy city on my bucket list for so long is because of the Afro-Columbian community that I wanted to learn more about, as well as where the african influences originated from.  I can be bit of a history fanatic at times, and as I’ve grown older my desire to learn more about it has grown exponentially. On my second day in Colombia, I took a tour to San Basilio de Palenque, which is an african village almost an hour outside of...
Give Me My Flowers

Give Me My Flowers

“Give me my flowers while I can still smell them” is what first came to mind when I saw this beautiful floral mural.  I don’t know how long this quote has been around, it still holds true today.  We should always strive to show people how much they mean to us while we can. On another note, it’s my birthday month and I’m strutting into the next year just as happy as I can be! Getting older is such a privilege, and I never take that for granted.  This floral mural was perfect the perfect backdrop for this vintage style monochrome outfit.  I’ve always been a huge fan of black and white because it’s so eye-catching, classy and timeless.  Since some of these pieces are vintage, I’ve found some similar pieces to recreate this look.  I hope you enjoy this post darlings!  If you do, please leave me a comment letting me know how so. Until next time, Muah! Conquer The World in a Statement Jumpsuit

Conquer The World in a Statement Jumpsuit

Hello my Loves, I hope you’re having an excellent day and great start to the week!  Have you considered wearing a wide-leg jumpsuit that finishes just above the ground? If not you may want to reconsider, as it will add some serious style to your wardrobe.  This Printed Crossbody Jumpsuit by ShoeDazzle will have you feeling like conquering the world and glamorous all at the same time.  There’s a jumpsuit style for every body type, but this style looks great if you’re tall.  If you’re short I recommend a slim, straight-leg, cropped style. I’ll admit, most people don’t like jumpsuits because they’re not exactly  the most convenient when it’s time to go. LOL! On top of that they can be tricky to pull off, but if you find the right style for your body type they are so worth it because they create such a striking look. Sea of Sunflowers

Sea of Sunflowers

Happy Saturday Loves, I hope your summer is off to a great start! Today I’m hanging out with the happiest flower on earth.  Lost in a sea of these sunflowers reflecting on their beauty, rich history and meaning.  The sunflower symbolizes adoration, loyalty and longevity, which are attributes I cherish and uphold. And speaking of adore, sundress season is here and I love these type of pretty dresses in the summertime.  This sexy sleeveless floral maxi dress by ShoeDazzle features a plunging V-neck, ruffle trim detail, and high front slit.  The colors are very vibrant and it’s cool and breezy, which is definitely needed in the hot temperatures we’ve been having already. I may look calm and collective up to now, but in case you’re wondering why I’m laughing so hard in this next shot, it’s because I thought my ponytail was a bee!  I screamed out loud a few times throughout the rest of the shoot, and my photographer thought I was cray. LOL!  I really wish y’all could be behind the scenes some days so you can see what really goes into these shoots.  They can be so hilarious.  I wouldn’t trade it for the world though.  Overall this day was like a dream come true, being in such a magical place surrounded by such beautiful and happy flowers!
