YOU see YOU

YOU see YOU

Hello Dolls, I woke up thinking about my motto, which is “It doesn’t matter who see, pretend they don’t see, or who doesn’t acknowledge you.  YOU see YOU and that’s all that matters!” – theultimatefashionista I hope you all are having a great week so far.  My dear sister gifted me with this beautiful handmade Ankara dress from The Gambia, West Africa and I needed to style it.  I love the pattern and how it flairs out and is so comfortable.  The boots I found really did it justice!  They’re currently on sale for $20 USD  and if you join ShoeDazzle as a VIP, you can receive your first item for $10 USD.  What a steal!  Of course I wouldn’t leave you hanging… the deets are below. Cape Series – Mix It Up

Cape Series – Mix It Up

Greetings everyone! You asked for another cape series, so another series it is.  After all, I love you all so much so I aim to please!  🙂 Today I’m kicking off the first look with one of my favorite things to do which is mix patterns in an unorthodox way.  Who would ever think houndstooth and plaid could pair together so well?  This look is proof you can absolutely wear the two patterns together. Hopefully you’ll leave inspired to try this look or some variation of this mix.  Do you enjoy mixing patterns together too? Primping in Plaid

Primping in Plaid

Hello Loves, I’m primping in plaid because it just happens to be one of my favorite patterns to wear in the fall. This years plaid trends are bigger checks mixed with brighter colors.  I love layering my looks for added texture.  This Cynthia Rowley jacket found at Marshalls, will definitely be on repeat this season.  Although it’s not available, I’ve put together some similar looks for you to shop below, because I can’t be primping all by myself.  🙂 Are you a fan of plaid?  If not, what are some of your favorite patterns for fall? Conquer The World in a Statement Jumpsuit

Conquer The World in a Statement Jumpsuit

Hello my Loves, I hope you’re having an excellent day and great start to the week!  Have you considered wearing a wide-leg jumpsuit that finishes just above the ground? If not you may want to reconsider, as it will add some serious style to your wardrobe.  This Printed Crossbody Jumpsuit by ShoeDazzle will have you feeling like conquering the world and glamorous all at the same time.  There’s a jumpsuit style for every body type, but this style looks great if you’re tall.  If you’re short I recommend a slim, straight-leg, cropped style. I’ll admit, most people don’t like jumpsuits because they’re not exactly  the most convenient when it’s time to go. LOL! On top of that they can be tricky to pull off, but if you find the right style for your body type they are so worth it because they create such a striking look. Sea of Sunflowers

Sea of Sunflowers

Happy Saturday Loves, I hope your summer is off to a great start! Today I’m hanging out with the happiest flower on earth.  Lost in a sea of these sunflowers reflecting on their beauty, rich history and meaning.  The sunflower symbolizes adoration, loyalty and longevity, which are attributes I cherish and uphold. And speaking of adore, sundress season is here and I love these type of pretty dresses in the summertime.  This sexy sleeveless floral maxi dress by ShoeDazzle features a plunging V-neck, ruffle trim detail, and high front slit.  The colors are very vibrant and it’s cool and breezy, which is definitely needed in the hot temperatures we’ve been having already. I may look calm and collective up to now, but in case you’re wondering why I’m laughing so hard in this next shot, it’s because I thought my ponytail was a bee!  I screamed out loud a few times throughout the rest of the shoot, and my photographer thought I was cray. LOL!  I really wish y’all could be behind the scenes some days so you can see what really goes into these shoots.  They can be so hilarious.  I wouldn’t trade it for the world though.  Overall this day was like a dream come true, being in such a magical place surrounded by such beautiful and happy flowers! When Art Meets Fashion – Part 2 (The Enchanted Forest)

When Art Meets Fashion – Part 2 (The Enchanted Forest)

Happy Memorial Day! I hope everyone is having a safe and enjoyable holiday.  If you’ve been following me, you know a few weeks ago I had a photo session with Daniel J Studios and featured “When Art Meets Fashion – Part 1” on my blog.  I talked about how amazing the shoot was, and how important it is to have someone capture your work so that it’s presented correctly.  Today I’m happy to share Part 2 of the shoot, and I hope you will find it equally amazing!  This set reminded me of an enchanted forest, and what came to mind is how we sometimes miss the forest for the trees. A forest is full of beautiful trees for the beholding but when we get so engrossed in the individual trees, we can forget that each tree is merely one of thousands in the forest and lose sight of what really matters. Let’s not forget to take a deep breath, take a step back and evaluate the bigger picture in the grand scheme of things. The ability to not see the bigger picture from God’s point of view can cause us to be stressed, frustrated and unhappy.  Happy people have a larger perspective and see the big picture.  No matter what’s going on in our lives we must feel confident that God is working out a plan.
