The Heart of the Matter

The Heart of the Matter

Let’s talk about Social Good!  It’s what’s near and dear to my heart.  I believe if every last one of us in the world would adopt some of the practices of organizations and businesses that promote social good, we can change the world to be a better place.  I seem to connect better with those who have a sense of social responsibility, and are passionate about change.  By volunteering in my local community, and supporting these types of entities, I’m doing my part to make a difference.  It’s great to witness businesses and organizations either starting their business model to include more social goods in their strategy or expanding it.  That is just totally awesome! My obsession lately is the lovely handmade bangle I purchased from Em Grey of Em Grey Photography, who also happens to be my photographer, and fellow blogger friend.  Initially I had never heard of Noonday Collection, I but once Em schooled me I was impressed. Noonday Collection is a business that uses fashion to create meaningful opportunities for artisan entrepreneurs around the world.  The bangle I love so much is made in India from bamboo by artisans with special needs. triFABB March Madness Meetup – and boy was it MAD!

If you wanna hear about a jaw dropping, overthetop, fabulous bloggers meetup keep reading.  As a member of triFABB, I was invited to my first ever triFABB event entitled triFABB March Madness Meetup – Girls Night Out held last Wednesday evening.  Can you say it truly was the “MAD” in Madness? Of course in a good way! In case you don’t know, triFABB stands for Triangle Fashion, Beauty, and Lifestyle Bloggers. The event had been planned for months, and it was obvious from the moment I arrived.  One of the things that made it so unique was it’s location.  It was in a fabulous model home in a new development in Chapel Hill, NC called Briar Chapel Community.  Not only did the home look spectacular, it was also green.  Too cool and that alone had my vote. Once I entered into the home, there were vendors galore, and not the dry type you just want to hide under a rock when you see.  I’m talking massage chairs, BeachBody, Rodan + Fields, Arbonne, Linda Mendible Designs, Peachy Keen Boutique, Noonday Collection, The Mighty River Project (gorgeous handmade textiles, jewelry, and handwoven baskets from Uganda) and to top it off a Photobooth! For as long Photobooths have been around, I was probably the only one in the world who had never tried it, so tonight was gonna be my chance 😀 When I walked into the kitchen area and saw a spread like no other I was beside myself.  I hadn’t eaten since breakfast and my eyeballs nearly popped out of my head.  I seriously had to contain myself.  All of...
