I can honestly say out of all the colors I typically wear, this bold bright orange dress was only one of a few orange garments in my closet. There used to be such a negative association attached to wearing orange and black, which I’m sure is from Halloween. Think about it! No one wants to walk around looking like a big ole pumpkin.
Over the past few years, orange exploded on the fashion scene and became more popular due to two major reasons. The first is because of the Orange is the New Black Netflix original series based on the book of the same title. The ratings generated more viewers in its first week than any other Netflix original series, and the catchy title is what caused orange to be first looked at from a fashion standpoint.
Orange then made its debut and ruled the runways at New York Fashion week Spring 2014, and has been popular ever since. I think it’s here to stay!
Are you a fan or orange? Have you tried introducing anything orange into your wardrobe? I would love to read your comments below.
Enjoy your weekend! ❤️
