The Golden Age

The Golden Age

Hello my Loves, It seems like it’s been such a long time since my last blog post.  Let me reassure you’re not forgotten because each and every one of you mean so much to me.  I appreciate all the love and support you always show me, and will never take that for granted.  As you know, I typically talk about fashion, and love that, but today I’m getting personal because several things have happened in my life that I’m over the moon about! Well, first and foremost is I’ve reached “The Golden Age”, and I’m ecstatic about it!  Why?  Simply because not everyone gets the privilege to age.  When I think about how fortunate I am to be alive, and the joys, knowledge, lessons, trials, heartaches, celebrations and memories, I’ve experienced, it’s overwhelming and quite humbling.  So as I reflect on the past 49 years, I’d like to share with you the things I’m most thankful for. God. I simply don’t know what I’d do without Him, PERIOD!  I’m extremely thankful I was raised in a Christian home where I witnessed my parents serve God from the time I was born.  As a little girl, I recall thinking we were going to church out of routine until I realized it was about developing a personal relationship with Him.  As I got older I learned to trust Him in all that I did, and now I can’t imagine my life without Him.  Today I’m beyond excited about my personal relationship with God.  Just to know I’m not perfect and will always make mistakes, but He accepts me just as I...
The BOTTOM Line

The BOTTOM Line

Happy Saturday Dolls! I’m so excited the weekend is here.  I have several events planned, but first wanted to share with you these fun Raw Hem Bell-Bottom Jeans I’ve recently added to my wardrobe.  Bell-bottoms are certainly not new in any realm to the fashion world, but I have yet to see any with the raw hem like these, except for at Zara.  However, if you’re looking for a more budget friendly version, this is it.  I’m loving the dark denim color but bottom gives W-I-D-E legs a new meaning! On top of looking stylish, bell-bottoms compliment a Pear body shape, are much more forgiving than tapered skinny pants, and help accentuate legs making them look longer.  I don’t know about you but with all of this heat, it’s refreshing to give my skinny jeans a break and let my legs breathe. It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing

It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing

(Doo wah, doo wah, doo wah, doo wah) Hey my Loves! I hope you’re enjoying the summer so far, and it hasn’t been too hot in your area.  Today I’m taking a step back into the 50’s in a beautiful bold colored swing dress I found while thrifting for only $9.99.  Yes, I must say I scored big time! These full-skirted dresses swing dresses are perfect for summer, and are absolutely one of my favorite types of dresses because they instantly add a touch of glamour and femininity to your look.  They’re also the perfect dress for the apple shape because they camouflage mid-sections, make the waist appear smaller like an hourglass, as well as show off legs. Instead of pairing this dress with a classic pin curl hairdo, I opted for a straw fedora hat, which gives more of an edgy appearance.  What’s your opinion of the way I styled this swing dress?  Did I do it justice?  Since this dress is vintage and not available, I’ve created a boutique below with various swing dress styles that you can shop. Thanks as always for stopping by to read my blog.  Until next time, stay stylish and keep swinging! 🙂 Photography by:  GloryRoze Photography   [show_boutique_widget id=”625967″]   What I Am Wearing: // Straw Hat // T.J.Maxx //Swing Dress // Vintage // Tamia in white // ShoeDazzle // Straw Bag // Vintage   Love, The Ultimate...
America The Beautiful

America The Beautiful

For the past several years I’ve struggled with becoming less patriotic than ever before.  As a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve who served for 8 years, I didn’t hesitate to join the military and put my life on the line for this country.  The senseless lack of regard for black lives over the years, had me struggling with whether I would still show my support for a country with so many injustices, but the reason why I do is simple.  It’s like when you and your siblings have a disagreement with each other, and don’t see eye to eye.  As long as the fight stays among yourselves all its fine, but the moment an outsider tries to come for one of your siblings, all hell breaks loose. I feel this is similar to what’s going on in this country.  We are having a disagreement right now, but if anyone tries to come for us, we would unite.  It shouldn’t and hopefully won’t ever have to come to that for us to unite.  My prayer is for this country to get back to trying to be the melting pot it once strived for when I was a little girl. No country is perfect, and there are injustices everywhere in the world.  In this country, there’s definitely a lot wrong, but this is also a country that elected the first black president proving that the potential for greatness for every member of this society still exists.  Has the justice system let us down?  Absolutely! But the bottom line is so many have sacrificed so much to ensure our freedom.  On...
