There’s nothing wrong with having self-confidence if you look nice, feel like you have it together, and know it. I don’t believe clothes make the person. I believe clothes should enhance the person…. but have you ever wondered what other people see when they look at you, or wondered how your profile looks to them from all angles? How would you know if you don’t have a full-length view of your entire ensemble? This is simple, but not always obvious. As a personal stylist, I frequently work with clients who have no full length mirror. While an outfit may look appealing in the front, it may not always be the case in the back, and vise versa. It’s best to be able to judge an outfit in its entirety, instead of hoping the top half works with the bottom half. A full length mirror is an easy fix that could eliminate wardrobe malfunctions not easily seen, plus provide a way to see your full silhouette. I consider it a must have for everyone. That’s it! I’ve officially divorced winter! I can no longer take the dark colors, closed toe shoes, coats, beanies, or umbrellas. Today is officially the first day of spring, therefore it’s time to bring out the bright new colors! This past winter was harsh, so I’m embracing the change in season. Today’s outfit post is me declaring a closet edit, putting away my winter gear, swapping out my boots for sandals, and never looking back. This outfit was built around the shoes I purchased from ShoeDazzle about a month ago in anticipation of this day. If you’re a shoe lover but aren’t a ShoeDazzle customer, you’re missing out BIG TIME! Not only do I find myself drooling over the styles, the prices are extremely reasonable, and the sales are phenomenal. My new spring fling is the color combination blue and yellow. Lately I’ve been obsessing over it. It’s like a breath of fresh air. Although I love the color blue, I actually don’t wear it much, so it’s a different look for me. What do you think? When was the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone? Spring is the perfect time! Happy Monday Guys! There’s only one word to describe my last Saturday afternoon, and that’s EPIC! Bear with me because there are lots of pictures in this post… I was invited to attend the Royalty, Rock Stars and Artists Party at Saks Fifth Avenue in Raleigh, NC. This fashion show featured all the new contemporary fashion trends for the spring from top designers such as Alice+Olivia, Rebecca Taylor, and BCBG. I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun I had. There was a DJ playing the latest upbeat music, which made you want to hit the dance floor. Then there were cocktails – Oooh the cocktails! There were three different flavors of champagne to choose from depending on your mood, and delicious mouth-watering french macarons also in three flavors. I wanted to park a permanent seat at the cocktail area, but didn’t want to miss the show. As promised here are a few behind the scene photos of the clothing for the show. I highly recommend paying Saks a visit to see the new spring fashion trends up close. You’ll be sure to find something you absolutely love there! Love, The Ultimate Fashionista...

Singing “Oh yes it’s Ladies Night, and the feelings right! Oh yes it’s Ladies Night! Oh, what a night!” That’s how I felt last Thursday night when met the gorgeous ladies of Raleigh Blog Society in downtown Apex for a fun night of sweet treats and shopping. It was my first event with the group and I was so excited to meet everyone. We met at Moon and Lola in Apex, NC and the fun quickly began. Upon first arriving there I met a few of the ladies and we had introductions. They were all extremely nice and it was great talking about our blogs. We enjoyed small treats and sips courtesy of Moon and Lola. Every event I’ve attended there has been fabulous and I always love the decor. After enjoying the treats, we headed to the streets to check out some of the other stores who were participating in the 20% discount The Raleigh Blog Society founder had negotiated for us. Everyone was moving at their own pace, but it was so much fun to meet up with other bloggers in other stores from time to time. All the store owners were extremely pleasant and helpful. We shopped until our hearts content, which is why I don’t have many photos of the bloggers to post. Everyone had a great evening, we’re already talking about our next event! If you wanna hear about a jaw dropping, overthetop, fabulous bloggers meetup keep reading. As a member of triFABB, I was invited to my first ever triFABB event entitled triFABB March Madness Meetup – Girls Night Out held last Wednesday evening. Can you say it truly was the “MAD” in Madness? Of course in a good way! In case you don’t know, triFABB stands for Triangle Fashion, Beauty, and Lifestyle Bloggers. The event had been planned for months, and it was obvious from the moment I arrived. One of the things that made it so unique was it’s location. It was in a fabulous model home in a new development in Chapel Hill, NC called Briar Chapel Community. Not only did the home look spectacular, it was also green. Too cool and that alone had my vote. Once I entered into the home, there were vendors galore, and not the dry type you just want to hide under a rock when you see. I’m talking massage chairs, BeachBody, Rodan + Fields, Arbonne, Linda Mendible Designs, Peachy Keen Boutique, Noonday Collection, The Mighty River Project (gorgeous handmade textiles, jewelry, and handwoven baskets from Uganda) and to top it off a Photobooth! For as long Photobooths have been around, I was probably the only one in the world who had never tried it, so tonight was gonna be my chance 😀 When I walked into the kitchen area and saw a spread like no other I was beside myself. I hadn’t eaten since breakfast and my eyeballs nearly popped out of my head. I seriously had to contain myself. All of...

If you haven’t noticed by now, one of the hottest come back trends is fringe. We started seeing it this past fall, and will continue to see it throughout the spring. I love it! Not only is it fun and flirty, it’s also sexy 🙂 There are so many different ways to incorporate fringe into your wardrobe. There’s shoes, handbags, jewelry and clothes, but if you’re like me, you don’t follow all the trends and only partake every now and then. This was just too cute not to join the fun, so here’s one idea on how you can wear a fringe top. There are several YouTube How-To videos on making these tops from old t-shirts, and it’s fairly easy. As you can see, I simply played around with the fringes and tied a knot to create a sassy and fun look, and Voilà! I hope you have a blast wearing your fringe! The outfit details are below.
