What to wear on New Year’s Eve! Celebrate in gorgeous style!

It’s hard to believe, but we’re only three days away from one of the biggest party nights of the year!  If you’re still on the hunt for the perfect NYE dress, you’ve come to the right place! In my opinion, New Year’s Eve is one of those nights to go BIG or go home.  It’s really one of the only acceptable times to wear something fancy that you wouldn’t normally otherwise any other time of the year.  I’m constantly turning to a little black dress for all events, but for NYE, I am ALL ABOUT mixing it up and adding in some textures like sequins and lace. Here are some suggestions for  NYE dresses.  Choose a design that outlines your feminine silhouette – when you walk in a room people will see you at your best – not just a dress.  Add some gemstone jewelry pieces, a beaded clutch and some strappy heels to complete your look.  Can you guess which one I’ll be...

How to ROCK comfy!

We all have those days when we’re too tired to even think about what to wear, nonetheless dress up.  With that in mind, does dressing comfortable mean we have to look frumpy?  I certainly don’t think so!  If you’re interested in getting some ideas of how to make casual look cute, read on.  With these examples and style tips you can look effortlessly cute, comfortable and stylish. First off, when shopping for comfortable clothes always consider the fabric.  I tend to like cotton, linen, silk, and rayon.  The reason is the material feels soft against my skin, and it breathes.  I tend to stay away from synthetics such as polyester.   Even though the market seems to be saturated with it, it feels less natural.  Don’t get me wrong, I do own some polyester pieces which are easier to maintain, but overall it really depends on the style and pattern so I’m just a bit more selective if I chose to buy it.  All fabrics have their positives and negatives.  Comfort, feel, price and durability are all factors, but in the end everyone has to decide based on their own needs, look they are trying to achieve, and budget. Secondly there is definitely some clothing I avoid, even on my laziest days.  Those are sweats (both tops and bottoms) for obvious reasons.  I try not to wear sweats unless I’m working out.  The one exception for me is when I’m traveling.  I really love really cute, colorful, dressy sweat suits by BCBG, Victoria Secret, and Cache paired with casual sneakers.  I find these to be comfy, fun and cute.Below are...

Happy Shopping Guys!

I had an interesting conversation with a male friend yesterday.  We chatted about the challenges men have opposed to women when it comes to shopping.  As women, we have so many places to shop.  Our outfits can look expensive and exquisite, without us having to spend a fortune on them. Have you ever noticed in stores how large the women’s department is compared to the men’s?  Or even how many choices women have?  Women can often find great deals and quality clothing at stores such as Marshalls, T.J.Maxx and Ross.   I’ve purchased an entire outfit (accessories and all) for less than $150 at these stores… LOL!  That definitely would not buy an entire outfit for a man.  When I really took time to think about all of this, I really felt sorry for the guys. Well, unfortunately I don’t think we can do anything about the lack of options in stores or sizes of men’s departments, but I have a few basic shopping and fashion wardrobe tips for our men folk 🙂 1. If you aren’t skilled at putting together outfits, consider the latest fashion magazines for new styles and trends.  Make sure you check out the colors and hot brands.  Look at the outfits in the magazines and if you see a look you like and rip that page out.  Take the pictures to various stores and ask the store associates to help find something similar.  If you don’t like this idea, simply take the page to a store you do shop at and try to find something similar. 2.  Sometimes people become too focused on wearing name...
