Celebrate Mother’s Day in Style

Celebrate Mother’s Day in Style

Sunday is Mother’s Day, which means you’re probably going to be spending time celebrating!  There’s also a good chance church and brunch will be involved.  Whatever will you wear? Since all eyes will be on you as your family surrounds you like the paparazzi, you’ll want to look your best!  A lovely floral patterned dress is a great choice.  People think of a flower as a symbol of a woman.  A floral dress is classic with the perfect amount of ladylike style.  The sophistication lies in the details.  Pair your beautiful dress with color block strappy sandals.  To complete the outfit invest in a bold statement necklace, and you will look like the queen you are for the day.  And what ever you do, for heaven’s sake don’t forget your hat! Happy Mother’s Day!  Wishing you all the happiness and love you so richly deserve! All the bells and whistles

All the bells and whistles

I’m really not one to follow trends, but when I saw this top my jaw hit the floor.  It truly has all the bells and whistles! You have to be living under a rock if you haven’t noticed all of the 1970s trends.  Huge hits include bell sleeves, off-the-shoulder tops, and tassels.  I was lucky enough to find a top that has it ALL!  That’s right, if you’re going to go for it, GO BIG or GO HOME!  Purple is one of my favorite colors, dating back to my first love, Prince.  I paired this top with my flare jeans and couldn’t forget the choker.  One of the things I love the most is how comfortable this boho chic look is, not to mention how free it makes me feel.  The ’70s very much encouraged the whole notion of individuality.  Although some may think some of the styles are wacky, I love how the world has evolved to once again embrace this era proving there is nothing wrong with expressing yourself. Like A Rock Star

Like A Rock Star

Am I the only one who at some point in life dreamed of becoming a rock star? My desire for that type of life started back in 1978 when Prince first debuted on the music scene.  Needless to say, I fell in love with the idea, and at some point drove my mom absolutely crazy with all of the Prince posters I hung to cover my bedroom wall. One of the things I loved most is the stylish clothing with loads of leather, lace, and studded accessories.  Those trends can still be found in the fashion world today.  Strangely, I started writing this blog post about Prince last night and then heard the news of his death today.  As I sit writing and thinking about exactly how much this man has strongly affected my life (from music to fashion to movies), I can only be grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to witness growing up being impacted by one of the most talented entertainers in the world! If you’re like me and haven’t been able to live out that rock star lifestyle, then wearing a rock star fashion outfit can be the next best thing. This blog post is dedicated to Prince!  I Adore You forever! A Modern Day Fairy Tale

A Modern Day Fairy Tale

Life itself is the most wonderful fairy tale.  – Hans Christian Andersen Once upon a time, in the City of Raleigh, lived a young 🙂 Fashion Stylist and Fashion Blogger, whose passion was providing style inspiration and helping people develop their own personal style.  One day when she least expected it, God allowed her to meet a young God-fearing man across town, who would later become the love of her life. As you can see, fairy tales tap into a special place within my heart!  They are just awesome stories that inspire hope in us and make the world seem loving and good.  I’m at a place in my life where I feel like I’m living a modern-day fairy tale, and the ending is going to be Happily Ever After!  This outfit ensemble has all the attributes of a Princess from a Fairy Tale.  It’s fun, glamorous, playful, whimsical, and colorful!  Sometimes we just need to not be so serious and wear whatever tickles our fancy!  When creating these types of outfits, be sure to pay attention to the details and add unique items for a creative touch.   Photography by:  Em Grey Photography Get the look below. //Faux Leather Tank// MinkPink //Pleated Taffeta Ball Skirt// Vintage //Multi-strand Oversized Faux Pearl Necklace // U-Neak Boutique //Hot Pink Satin Clutch// Kate Landry //Raziel Gold Glitter Pump// ShoeDazzle   Love, The Ultimate Fashionista...
Easter Sunday Best

Easter Sunday Best

Easter is right around the corner and I’m wondering if you have your outfit ready! Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays!  It’s the most important and oldest festival of the Christian Church celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  I love the spirit and all of the festivities that come along with it.  Apart from the family time, all the Easter egg hunts, and chocolate bunnies, one of the things I always look forward to is selecting a spring-time ensemble for Easter Sunday. This year I plan to wear this light pink blazer, textured skirt and floral pattern heels.  Girly accents such as a pink coat and floral ankle-strap pumps play off neutrals.  Floral prints are always a score and also make spring feel much brighter.  Mixing textures, patterns, and prints is a wonderful way to create more variety in your outfits, giving them an interesting depth which is definitely a must if you want to take a more individualistic and personal approach to dressing. Easter is truly a joyous occasion, so why not pull out your Sunday best and celebrate with a fresh, colorful outfit? Southern Girls and Pearls

Southern Girls and Pearls

This is a man’s world!  This is a man’s world!  But it wouldn’t be nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl. It’s no secret that southern girls LOVE pearls!  I’m truly a southern girl at heart.  Today I decided to rock my pearls, but with my man’s hat.  I know it’s an unconventional combination, but that’s me in a nutshell. Growing up I was somewhat of a tomboy, which plays significantly into who I am today.  I didn’t discriminate.  I played with both girls and boys.  I recall going from playing with dolls and double dutch with girls, to dodgeball and softball with boys.  I was never made to feel like I had to choose sides.  That in turn is displayed through my personal style in loving to pull together looks that have a great balance between a feminine and masculine feel. The good thing is there are no rules!  The moral of the story is don’t let gender specific items stop you from experimenting with and expressing your own personal style. I hope you had an enjoyable St. Patrick’s Day and wish you a great weekend ahead!
