Liven up your wardrobe with a bold geometric print! Geometric prints are fun, exciting and eye-catching. The boldness of these prints allow anyone wearing them to stand out, which is why they are one of my favorites. I love mixing geometric prints but it’s a good idea to remember that eyes need some place to rest. Too many or the wrong prints mixed together can look like a disaster. I decided to keep this look simple, which works well for daytime. Since the geometric cropped pants already make a statement, I toned down the pattern with a classic mint blazer which adds a pop of color, and solid black shoes. For accessories, I chose the same color tones as the overall palette of my outfit. If mixing prints is too much, try a similar look of integrating one geometric piece at a time. Just remember to have fun with it! Purple has always been one of my favorite colors! It makes an elegant and strong fashion statement, and coincidentally also happens to be the name of one of my favorite songs and movies by my favorite artist. 🙂 Could it be because it screams royalty, and there are so many ways to dress it up? For spring you will see various shades of purple hit the runway and beauty scene. Here’s a look at a fun outfit I pulled together using this majestic color! I love mixing purple with other rich color jewel tones because it creates a very lush look. It also looks good with metallic and whites. I chose a magenta purple because of my warmer complexion; however, a cooler skin tone should go for a purple that has a blue or gray hue. That’s it! I’ve officially divorced winter! I can no longer take the dark colors, closed toe shoes, coats, beanies, or umbrellas. Today is officially the first day of spring, therefore it’s time to bring out the bright new colors! This past winter was harsh, so I’m embracing the change in season. Today’s outfit post is me declaring a closet edit, putting away my winter gear, swapping out my boots for sandals, and never looking back. This outfit was built around the shoes I purchased from ShoeDazzle about a month ago in anticipation of this day. If you’re a shoe lover but aren’t a ShoeDazzle customer, you’re missing out BIG TIME! Not only do I find myself drooling over the styles, the prices are extremely reasonable, and the sales are phenomenal. My new spring fling is the color combination blue and yellow. Lately I’ve been obsessing over it. It’s like a breath of fresh air. Although I love the color blue, I actually don’t wear it much, so it’s a different look for me. What do you think? When was the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone? Spring is the perfect time! Happy Monday Guys! There’s only one word to describe my last Saturday afternoon, and that’s EPIC! Bear with me because there are lots of pictures in this post… I was invited to attend the Royalty, Rock Stars and Artists Party at Saks Fifth Avenue in Raleigh, NC. This fashion show featured all the new contemporary fashion trends for the spring from top designers such as Alice+Olivia, Rebecca Taylor, and BCBG. I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun I had. There was a DJ playing the latest upbeat music, which made you want to hit the dance floor. Then there were cocktails – Oooh the cocktails! There were three different flavors of champagne to choose from depending on your mood, and delicious mouth-watering french macarons also in three flavors. I wanted to park a permanent seat at the cocktail area, but didn’t want to miss the show. As promised here are a few behind the scene photos of the clothing for the show. I highly recommend paying Saks a visit to see the new spring fashion trends up close. You’ll be sure to find something you absolutely love there! Love, The Ultimate Fashionista...
