Let’s face it! In a world of ever-changing fashion trends it’s tempting to routinely get caught up in wearing the latest styles. Unfortunately some of the trends I see are less than classy. Have you ever thought about why things are called classical? The reason is because despite the amount of time that passes, classical things remain nice. Classical is regarded as representing an exemplary standard; traditional and long-established in form or style. For this reason, I suggest my clients think about deliberately incorporating some classic pieces into their wardrobe from time to time. Since there are classic cuts for every body type, this isn’t hard to do. There’s a common misconception that classic means boring and dated; however, classic cut pieces come in various patterns and textures that can look current and exciting. These type of classic cuts can be mixed in to create a more modern look however they still remain timeless. Today’s outfit inspiration features a classic cut straight skirt in lime green, combined with a textured pattern. This is a perfect example of a classic cut piece with a lively look that doesn’t feel dated. As you can see, I paired the skirt with a sleeveless silk blouse, and lace cardigan (also classic). To complete the look, I topped it off with a vintage fascinator. If you don’t know me, I’ll often have a hat nearby to complete my looks. I realize everyone doesn’t love hats as much as I do, but this is where personal style comes to play. I would love to know your thoughts on keeping it classy and whether you...

Now that summer is officially here, I’ve been enjoying the sunshine and sipping my favorite summer time drink. You guessed it! “Lemonade” 🙂 It’s been a hot season so far, and this is the time when most people reveal their bodies more than ever. Today I’m featuring an outfit post to help those who don’t feel quite as comfortable about their bodies, or just want to cover certain areas. Keep in mind that layering isn’t just for colder temperatures! There are actually many ways to successfully layer in the summer. This unexpected layering look was created with a basic white tank and shorts. I chose white because it’s the most versatile color that goes well with any other color or pattern. White screams a clean, sleek and modern look which suits everyone. The white tank and shorts look great together, but what turns this outfit from ordinary to extraordinary is the long statement duster, which is perfect to seamlessly transition from the heat to the air-conditioning. This look is somewhat edgy and perfect for an event such as a concert or festival. Lightweight statement dusters, vests, jackets and pullovers paired with stylish separates are the key to summer time layering. As you can see, I finished the ensemble with a pair of my favorite strappy heel sandals by JustFab. Until next time…. long live summer! Cheers! We made it through another week and what a Happy Friday it is! Today I’m striping a pose by mixing one of my favorite versatile patterns for summer. Stripes are a wardrobe essential because they can be mixed and matched with just about any other pattern. Navy and white stripes are classic, elevate a look, and give a cool nautical feel. For a twist on this outfit, I decided to match my blouse with these fabulous spring sandals from JustFab. When I first saw them, I fell in love and had to have them. Not only did I add a lemonade yellow handbag for a pop of color, but also a long jean duster for layering. Although you may not be ready to mix and match stripes, you can introduce stripes into other aspects of your outfits such as a striped espadrille, scarf or purse. I promise, it will quickly become the go-to staple of your wardrobe. Have a fantastic weekend! Photography by: Em Grey Photography Shop this look below. Last night was simply amazing! I was invited to a private vintage trunk show in Raleigh, NC hosted by Boot & Trunk. This event was for the die-hard vintage lover offering unique, one-of-a-kind, high-quality gorgeous vintage finds. Boot & Trunk is a vintage boutique and offers pop up events in the United States and United Kingdom. What I love so much about this small business is that everything from clothing to accessories is hand-picked with care by the owner, Mary Liles who will literally travel to Timbuktu to find the absolute best vintage items there are on earth. Mary finds are truly one-a-kind, and make you feel special knowing she has searched for the perfect items just for you. The evidence is always clear when Mary has a trunk show that she has taken her time and inspected each item for perfection. I don’t know exactly how she does it, but she manages to offer a constantly refreshed collection of gorgeous unique vintage at a great price. I’m quite sure it’s time-consuming, which makes me appreciate her skill even more. If you were to ever meet her and have a conversation, you’ll immediately gather she eats, sleeps and breathes the vintage lifestyle and is fulfilling her destiny! The atmosphere was extremely comfortable and relaxed which provided the perfect intimate shopping experience. After all, us vintage lovers need to take our time to look, admire, and ponder what the story is behind each piece. One of my favorite things about the evening was running into vintage lover friends, and meeting new friends, such as these ladies enjoying their new treasures....

Don’t mind me. I’m just strolling into this feature wearing flowers and fringe. Is anyone ready for the Memorial Day holiday besides me? It’s been raining in my area for the past several weekends, and I’m really looking forward to some nice dry sunny weather. What ever you’re planning, this is the perfect style inspiration, whether it be a lunch date with girlfriends, or dinner date with your Boo. A true Fashionista knows that no outfit is complete without the perfect pair of shoes. Fringe sandal heels as your main accessory are a great way to show your effortless style. They just add a little something “extra” to any outfit. Take a look at my favorite pair of amazing fringe heels by JustFab. I paired them with a cute white top and floral printed pants. It was the perfect choice, especially for summer! Have a safe and wonderful holiday Loves! I have a confession. My latest obsession is with jumpsuits. Please tell me I’m not in this alone 🙂 What’s not to love about these gigantic adult glammed up onesies, other than the occasional inconvenience of having to use a public restroom? For me the benefit outweighs the trouble. So let’s talk about three reasons why every woman should own a jumpsuit. Reason #1: They are all-in-one. You literally don’t have to think about what to pair them with. Reason #2: They can be easily dressed up or down. You can easily add a cool blazer or sweater, or opt for sandals instead of heels which completely changes the look. Reason #3: They are easy to pack. This one speaks for itself. Just a few folds and Wala! You have your entire outfit without the hassle of trying to figure it all out. I found this cool jumpsuit at one of my favorite local consignment shops. I love the bold geometric pattern, which almost reminds me of a leopard, but not quite. I paired this with my mama’s vintage hat and it gives it a totally different look. Instant pizzaz! So ladies, don’t be afraid to try a jumpsuit. I promise you there’s one out there for everyone!
