Handpicked

Handpicked

With fall officially right around the corner, stores are already full of fall fashion.  Wait just one moment!  Summer isn’t over just yet, so I’m going to milk it! 🙂 These gorgeous flowers were handpicked to compliment my outfit ensemble.  People who know me personally understand my love for choosing things carefully for myself or others.   There’s just something about the idea of selecting for personal ends that excite me.  Perhaps it’s the power, inner freedom and satisfaction of knowing the story behind what goes into personally choosing something which is often remembered for a long time. Handpicking is convenient, makes sense because it saves time, and is like having things customized just for you.   Let me take the headache out of shopping by shopping for  you! 🙂 // Tulle Skirt (French Connection) // // Top (BCBGMaxazria) // // Shoes (Marella by ShoeDazzle) // // Handbag (Vintage) // // Make up (Reveal Cosmetics) // // Earrings (Grandma’s) // Photography by:  Em Grey Photography   Love, The Ultimate...
Go Green!

Go Green!

Hey everyone! I gotta thang for green lately, so I decided to max it out with this green maxi dress shopped from my closet …. I actually found it last year at Marshalls.  It caught my attention because the pattern was unique and colors were captivating to my eye.  I also love the various shades from grass to army green.  Green has always been one of my favorite colors.  It’s the color of life, renewal, nature, energy, growth, harmony, freshness, safety, fertility, and the environment.  It’s no wonder I love it. I’m not sure what my green obsession is all about lately, but I’m going to roll with it 🙂 // Maxi dress (Marshalls) // // Straw Tote (old) // // Gladiator Sandals (Seychelles) // // Reveal Cosmetics (here) // Photography by:  Em Grey Photography Have a great rest of the week! Grandma’s Earrings for Mother’s Day

Grandma’s Earrings for Mother’s Day

I’m very blessed to be able to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mom and son, but I can’t help but remember my beloved grandma who I miss dearly.  I’m honoring her by wearing a pair of her vintage earrings, given to me by my mom after she passed away.  I knew I would be able to modernize them later.  Wearing something of hers always keeps her near and dear to my heart. My sweet grandma was so classy, stylish, and a bit of a hoarder who loved fashion.  Who wouldn’t want to raid her closet?  She was a petite and feisty lady who was strong-willed yet gentle in so many ways, and extremely loving towards everyone. Every weekend while growing up, I tagged along with my mom and grandma who loved antique shops and thrifting.  This was how my love for vintage first began.  My grandfather chauffeured us around all the time, and I couldn’t help but wonder whether we got on his nerves.  Amazingly he never seemed agitated, always smiled and rarely complained. Some of the most prized pieces in my wardrobe, which I wear time and time again came from my grandma’s closet.  Not only are they pieces I love, they have an added bonus of sentimental value that is quite frankly irreplaceable.  Her pieces are typically an excellent conversation starter, which ultimately leads to being able to brag about her stellar fashion sense. Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mother’s in the world.  Wishing you all the love and happiness you so richly deserve! Photo credits:  Em Grey Photography Love, The Ultimate...
Vacation Resorts to Pattern Mixing

Vacation Resorts to Pattern Mixing

Is it just me or are you dying for a getaway? This year has been flying by and I’ve been so ready for a break lately!  Upon deciding to take a quick and much-needed short stay away, I needed to pull some casual outfits together for my trip.  Sure I could play it safe and match up a few solid pieces and call it a day, but why do that when I can mix up a few patterns and look even more spectacular? For a fun resort look, I pulled together a jacket and blouse with two different patterns. There are reasons why this looks just works.  If you will notice, both pieces share white as a similar color, which is one technique to follow when mixing patterns.  The second reason is both pieces share the same type of striped patterned print.   There is also another mix going on that is not so obvious, which is the mix between a tailored jacket, and flowing ruffled blouse. The next time you want a different look, don’t let the fear of mixing patterns leave you perplexed.  Just remember the tips I shared above and you will be well on your way!  I challenge you to experiment with mixing plaids, florals, paisleys, polka-dots and strips. Have fun! 🙂   Here are the outfit details: Blazer:  Rafaella, Similar here:  Yoox Top:  Cache, Similar here: Modcloth Pants:  Joie Skinny Cropped Jeans, Similar here: OldNavy Shoes:  BCBGeneration Candiss Platform Wedge Sandal,  heels.com Handbag:  Nine West It Girl Tote, Similar here: HenriBendel Love, The Ultimate...
